In the afternoon, meeting our guide and driver at your Shanghai downtown hotel lobby, you will directly be taken to Zhujiajiao Ancient Water Town and the driving time usually lasts around 50 minutes.
According to historical record, as early as in 1700 years ago during the Three Kingdoms Period, Zhujiajiao villages has been over there. In the Song and Yuan Dynasties, the village grew into a town and got the name “Zhujiacun village”. The appearance of the town we see today was left from the Ming Dynasty. Nowadays the ancient town is best known for its bridges, old streets, and gardens built during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. The highlight things to see in the ancient town are: Fangsheng Bridge, Baoguo Temple, Town God’s Temple, and Zhuxi Garden.
After staying in Zhujiajiao, you will pay a short visit to the Silk Factory where you will learn knowledge about silk and how to bargain for clothes, quilts and some handmade things like that, you will have opportunity to purchase some fine products here. Finally, you will be sent back to your hotel.
