We will pick you up at about 7:00 am at your hotel within second ring of Beijing downtown (if your hotel is beyond second ring road, please come to appointed hotel or subway station to join the tour). After about 2.5 hours' drive, you will arrive at Gubei Water Town—one of China's most famous water towns. The town has the Simatai section of China's Great Wall as the background and boasts picturesque canals, bridges, courtyard houses, shops, and hotels. It increasingly becomes another popular site for visitors in Beijing. There is a tour assistant (English speaking) will help to handle the admission tickets, point you the way how to explore there and appoint the meeting time. Then you will explore the water town and Great Wall freely on your own. You will wander around the town by yourself and can try some local snacks on your own cost.

After having fun at the water town, you will move on to Simatai Great Wall, the only section of Great Wall that retains the original appearance from Ming dynasty, thus called "primitive Great Wall" by UNESCO. This part of the Great Wall stretches 5.4 kilometers with a total of 35 lookout towers. And the towers on Simatai Great Wall with delicate design and various structures are different from those on other parts of the Great Wall. Please watch your steps while walking as it is known for being steep. If hiking is too much for you, cable car is available and optional. You will finish the exploration at about 15:00 pm and get back to the designated place where the tour assistant will be waiting for you. Then we will drive back to Beijing downtown for about 2.5 hours. The available drop-off places include: hotels within 2nd ring road of Beijing,  Dongzhimen Subway Station, Wangfujing or Qianmen Sanjiao. You can freely explore the city on your own and get back to your hotel by yourself.
